A tragedy of the history
Crazily,but truthfully,I finished reading the most part of the novel "A Tale of Two Cities" in just one day.Lost in the story,I felt like being together with the characters and experiencing the same exciting events.Soon it came to an end.To tell you my feelings,it's infinite sadness and a strong emotion that can drive me to cry.
The story is set in London and Paris at the time of the great French Revolution.It shows the causes of revolution and its effects on people's day-to-day lives.Before the revolution,the King and the aristocracy treated their people cruelly in France.The common people were extremely poor and miserable.The crops in the fields were poor as if even the land shared the misery of the people.And there were so heavy taxes that all the villagers had nothing to hand over at last.On the other hand,the aristocracy made their will as the law by using money and gold.There were no justice,no equality and no fairness.Just as what happened to Dr Manette,he wrote to the Minister to show the crime what Marquis Evremonde had done,resulting in himself being arrested and sent to the prison Bastille without any reason.

A Tale of Two Cities occupies a central place in the canon of Charles Dickens's works. This novel of the French Revolution was originally serialized in the author's own periodical All the Year Round. Weekly publication of chapters 1-3 of Book 1 began on April 30, 1859. In an innovative move, Dickens simultaneously released installments of the novel on a monthly basis, beginning with all of Book 1 in June and concluding with the last eight chapters of Book 3 in December. Dickens took advantage of the novel's serial publication to experiment with characterization, plot, and theme. He described the work in a letter to his friend John Forster, cited in Rudi Glancy's A Tale of Two Cities: Dickens's Revolutionary Novel, as "a picturesque story rising in every chapter, with characters true to nature, but whom the story should express more than they should express themselves by dialogue." But life was not always satisfactory. Unexpected tragedy happened one day. Simba's uncle, a mean lion that had been coveting the throne for quite long, carried out an evil plan and managed to trap Simba and his father in front of galloping buffaloes.
To save his dear son, the old lion king sacrificed his own life. And Simba, with his uncle taking his father's place, had
choice but to flee. On his aimless road, he met two new friends, a weasel and a boar. They were hearty and optimistic pairs.
The friendship between Simba and the other two brought him great courage. He was no longer alone and dejected. He was no more a shabby fugitive, but rather a growing price trained by the Nature to retake the throne due him.
Through unswerving efforts of himself and generous help from his friends, Simba finally defeated his uncle and became the lawful king of the animals. The exclamation of HURRAH resounded in the sky, celebrating the fearless new king.
This film taught me that a friend in need is a friend indeed and that only through perseverance can one reach his goal.
