饿死的驴》
故事：在一个寒冷的冬天，一头饥饿的毛驴在干枯的草原上找到两堆草。
可是，毛驴不知道先吃哪一堆，竟然在长时间的选择和徘徊中饿死了。
很多时候不都是这样吗？我们能得到很多很多，可是因为不知道该如何选择，最终失去了所有。我们不能像这头驴子一样！
道理：当两种机遇降临时，首先要学会放弃，才有可能选择，否则将会像故事中的蠢驴一样，在犹豫合拍怀中饿死。有所失必有所失，有所不为才能有所为。人生只有不断放弃，才能一步一步走向成功的彼岸。
故事一：礼物
一个佛陀在旅途中，碰到一个不喜欢他的人。连续好几天，好长一段路，那人用尽各种方法污蔑他。
最后，佛陀转身问那人："若有人送你一份礼物，但你拒绝接受，那么这份礼物属于谁呢？" 那人回答："属于原本送礼的那个人。" 佛陀笑着说："没错。若我不接受你的谩骂，那你就是在骂自己？"
那人摸摸鼻子走了。

故事二：猴子的执着

古时候有一个国王拥有无数的土地也有满屋子的金银财宝，可是他仍然觉得不够、不满足，所以闷闷不乐。
一天，有个「金仙子」出现问国王说：「国王陛下，您觉得到底要怎么样，才会快乐呢?」
国王想了想说：「我要有一只金手指，只要我的金手指随便一碰触，甚么东西都可以变成金子，那我就会很快乐。」
「真的吗？您真的想要一个金手指吗？您要不要考虑一下？」金仙子问道。
「不用考虑了，这是我一生中最大梦想，只要有金手指我的梦想就能实现，我就会很快乐!」国王说。
于是，金仙子就把国王的右手变成一只金手指。国王只要随意一指桌子、椅子、盘子、墙壁...凡是他碰触过的东西都变成「金制」的物品
哇！真是太棒、太高兴了！
这时，国王跑到花园闻到阵阵花香，就顺手摘朵花来闻赏。可是，手一碰到花朵，花朵立刻变成金花，不再有香味！

A PIGEON, oppressed by excessive thirst, saw a goblet of water painted on a signboard. Not supposing it to be only a picture, she flew towards it with a loud whir and unwittingly dashed against the signboard, jarring herself terribly. Having broken her wings by the blow, she fell to the ground, and was caught by one of the bystanders.
Zeal should not outrun discretion.

But cleansing his feathers as often as he would, he could not change their color, while through want of food he perished.

A MISER sold all that he had and bought a lump of gold, which he buried in a hole in the ground by the side of an old wall and went to look at daily. One of his workmen observed his frequent visits to the spot and decided to watch his movements. He soon discovered the secret of the hidden treasure, and digging down, came to the lump of gold, and stole it. The Miser, on his next visit, found the hole empty and began to tear his hair and to make loud lamentations. A neighbor, seeing him overcome with grief and learning the cause, said, "Pray do not grieve so; but go and take a stone, and place it in the hole, and fancy that the gold is still lying there. It will do you quite the same service; for when the gold was there, you had it not, as you did not make the slightest use of it."
